The labrum is a cartilage ring found within the shoulder. This ring in the shoulder joint’s socket works to keep the ligaments in the region anchored. The function of these ligaments, along with the surrounding muscles and tendons, is to allow the arm to move freely.
When there is a labral tear (damage to the labrum), this affects the functionality of the muscles, ligaments, and tendons and can compromise the arm’s range of motion.
People who are having issues with arm movement and think that their shoulder is experiencing a labral tear should arrange a consultation by contacting our office. At Advanced Spine & Orthopedics, our shoulder labral tear specialist will determine the best treatment method to address this shoulder issue.
